Walking to Emmaus

Thinking out loud while walking in this thing called faith

Welcome to Walking to Emmaus, where I spill my thoughts into a public forum and invite others to ponder with me what it means to live out our Christian faith in a way that matters, because, ultimately, that is all that matters.

About The Blog

It is all about my faith in Jesus Christ. I am not a biblical scholar, a theologian, or a pastor. I am a middle school math teacher desperately trying to grow in my faith and figure out how to live a life that is faithful and honors God every day. I have a distaste for trite Christian phrases and static Christian lives. I admire those who explore what it truly means to live radically different lives for the sake of Christ and are willing to risk failure and ridicule in the process. Some believe that I “overthink” many matters of faith, but I would argue that most American Christians don’t think deeply enough (if at all) about the things that truly matter.

This blog is merely a record of my journey of faith - my thoughts, my trials, my failures, my successes, my insights, and, at times, maybe even my foolishness. Like my life, it is filled with imperfections, but, hopefully, as it progresses, it will also show evidence of growth in genuine faith. It is public only because it seems odd to keep it to myself and because I welcome the thoughts of others who are on a similar journey.
